Learn to skate indoors from our nationally certified skate instructors in the 5,000 sq ft ballroom at the Avalon in Boulder. This series consists two 90-minute classes, totalling three hours of instruction. Roller skates and inline skates are welcome!
Free rental skates and safety pad sets are included for Get Rolling students. Please contact us in advance if you need skates and/or safety gear.
Classes are held directly before our weekly Skate Night at the Avalon. Get Rolling students receive free admission to Skate Night on the final class date!

Thinking about skating but afraid of getting injured from falling?
If you answered yes to any of these, this is the class for you!
Roller skating can be scary and intimidating for beginners, but it doesn't have to be! In this series you'll learn proper techniques from nationally certified skate instructors to get you rolling safely. Brand new & beginner skaters will learn foundational skills, including:
Stand and balance on skates
Fall down safely and get up properly
Start and stop
Turn around
Balance on one foot
Forward Stride: slow, controlled skating
Skate anatomy
By the end of this series, you’ll have the skills and confidence to continue skating on your own! This series is a great precursor to our Level Up! Foundational Skills classes.
Required Gear: Roller skates or inline skates and safety pad sets (wrist guards, elbow & knee pads). Please contact us in advance regarding gear requests.
